If a Special Event requires pre-registration, a link will take you to our external registration site for that particular event. Our Special Events are typically open to all ages, offer kid-friendly activities, and are held at various facilities throughout the year. If you're new to the area or just visiting, please visit our Find Your Park page for customizable directions to the event locations.

Dinos on the Loose Scavenger Hunt

In partnership with Schlow Centre Region Library Summer Reading Program, this self-guided quest invites kids and families to track down dinosaurs hiding in local parks, uncover fun surprises, and enjoy the thrill of discovery along the way.  Running from June 1-August 12, in parks across the region, this flexible, family-friendly adventure lets you explore at your own pace while earning awesome prizes from both Centre Region Parks & Recreation and the library program. Happy hunting!  Turn in your sheets at the CRPR office by August 12th, for a prize and to be entered into a drawing for a 2027 Season Pool Pass.

21st Annual Touch-A-Truck Event - CANCELED DUE TO RAIN

Get ready to rev your engines for the 21st Annual Touch a Truck—one of the most exciting family events of the summer!  Join us for a hands-on adventure where kids (and kids at heart!) can climb aboard, explore, and discover a wide variety of awesome trucks and vehicles up close. From big rigs to emergency vehicles, this is your chance to see them, touch them, and yes—honk those horns!  We’re proud to offer a sensory-friendly hour from 10–11 AM, where the excitement is turned down a notch with no horn honking, creating a more comfortable experience for all guests.

Celebrate America's 250th birthday at the Annual Kids on Wheels Parade on the morning of July 4th!  Bring your decorated bikes, scooters, wagons, etc and meet at the corner of Locust Lane and Foster Ave.  We'll roll down Foster Ave in honor of the US Semiquicentennial, ending at Friedman Parklet with yard games, festive activities, cake and watermelon.  Join us for a community filled morning to make this historic milestone--on wheels!

Celebrate Ferguson Township’s 225th Anniversary at “Ferguson 225: Red, White & Community Night”—and get ready to roll into action with CRPR’s high-energy, hands-on Bike Rodeo!  Kids will ride, weave, and cruise through a fun obstacle course, sharpen their skills at interactive safety stations, and build confidence on two wheels. It’s the perfect mix of excitement and learning, all designed to help young riders stay safe and ride smart.  Hosted in partnership with PennDOT, Ferguson Township Police, and the Centre Regional Planning Agency.  Pre-register to make sure you don’t miss out on free helmet giveaways!

Park Forest Community Pool
 
Grab yur float and head to Park Forest Pool for a high-energy Dive-In Movie night showing "Sonic the Hedgehog" on our inflatable screen.  Enjoy evening swimming, fun activities and yard games, plus, thanks to Horizon Federal Credit Union, the first hour includes free Pelican's SnoBalls!   Staff will be handing out free glow sticks and raffle tickets for a chance to win a Sonic themed prize pack!  Note:  Water slides will not be running.

The Annual Fall Feet 5K Run/Walk kicks off and finishes at beautiful Circleville Park, featuring a scenic course with a few fun, rolling hills.  Whether you’re racing for a personal best or strolling with friends, this all-ages event offers something for everyone—and is professionally chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing.  Leashed pups are welcome, and stick around as top finishers take home prizes! Plus, registration includes a free race t-shirt while supplies last.
