Thank you for visiting our Special Events page.  Throughout the year, we will post our Special Events here as well as within our Seasonal Active Guide.  Additionally, you can view our Special Events on the Events Calendar.  If a Special Event requires pre-registration, a link is provided that will take you to our external registration site for that particular event. 

Dinner and a Movie with CRPR                                                                Field of dreams image

We have got the perfect setting for an outdoor movie with a view!  Join us at Oak Hall Regional Park as we show the film "Field of Dreams" rated PG. Our concession stand will be open and serving up some family-friendly dinner options or you can bring your own picnic dinner.  Gates will open at 5:45 PM and we will have some fun yard games available for play before the movie--corn hole, Plinko, Kerpluck, giant Jenga and more!  The movie will start at 7:00 PM and the concession stand will remain open through intermission.  Please dress for the weather and bring a flashlight for the walk back to the car!  Admission is $10 /car at the gate.

Halloween Parade

Put on your costume and grab your family and friends and join us for the 72nd Annual Halloween Costume Parade in downtown State College. The parade forms at the corner of College Ave and Burrowes St.Halloween Parade 2017 at 6:30 PM, with step off promptly at 7 PM. Costume judging takes place at Memorial Field. Over 10 different costume categories to choose from. Stay tuned to see what new and unique categories we come up with for 2018! Cash prizes and free treat bags provided to all from the State College Lions Club. The event is Free!

Trick or Treat Night

Trick or Treat Night for the Centre Region (State College Borough, Townships of College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton) is scheduled for Wednesday, October 31 from 6-8 PM.  The Township of Halfmoon will hold their Trick or Treat Night on the same evening, but during the hours of 5:30-8:30 PM.  


Friday Night Slides
It's time to get those saucers, slides, sleds, skis, and snowboards ready!  Friday Night Slides makes its debut on December 7 at Slab Cabin Park.  Join CRPR for a fun night of downhill fun under the lights.  We'll have the campfires going along with some tasty snacks and music1  We'll have some organized sledding/sliding competitions and we even have a plan for some no-snow activities!  Join us for some fun and maybe even a few surprises!  Dress for the weather and night temperatures, and bring your favorite snow transportation!  This event is open to all ages and is FREE!  Please, all minors should be Friday Night Slidesaccompanied by a parent or guardian.

State College Area Municipal Band

80 amateur and semi-professional band members selected for balanced instrumentation perform four indoor concerts annually. Repertoire ranges from pops to standard band classics, including overtures, transcriptions and marches.

The FREE concerts of this award-winning band are held in the Mount Nittany Middle School Auditorium, unless noted otherwise. Donations for the band are gratefully accepted at the door. EVERYONE is welcome! Please check back HERE for the dates and times.

Concerts are held: February, March/April, May, and November
