Gift Benches
As part of the Gifts-For-Parks Program, CRPR has worked with donors to provide funds for Gift Benches across the park system. Since 1997, 131 park benches have been added to our local parks. Potential donors are encouraged to call the CRPR Office at (814) 231-3071 to discuss the available sites for park benches. At this time (January 2026), the following parks are full with bench inventory: Tom Tudek Memorial Park, Circleville Park, Spring Creek Park, Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, Slab Cabin Park, Dalevue Park, and Green Hollow Park.
Purchases made after December 31, 2025 will be placed in the spring of 2027.
There are two types of benches available, depending on the park selected:
Municipal Park Benches
The municipal park bench is a commercial-grade, 6' long park bench (Dumor Bench #138-60PL), which weighs 126 pounds, and is made in Mifflintown, PA, of recycled plastic lumber with a steel frame that is installed in concrete footers. A donation of $1,000 enables the purchase and installation of the bench along with a custom cast bronze plaque (2.5" x 8" to include defined wording & format) inset flush with the bench backrest. The park site, location, and plaque text are finalized in cooperation with agency staff.
Regional Park Benches
The regional park bench is a heavier-duty, commercial-grade, 6' long park bench (Dumor Bench #11-60PL) which weighs 223 pounds, and is made in Mifflintown, PA of recycled plastic lumber with a steel frame in poured concrete footers. A donation of $1,600 enables the purchase and installation of the bench along with a custom cast bronze plaque (2.5" x 8" to include defined wording & format) inset flush with the bench backrest. The park site, location, and plaque text are finalized in cooperation with agency staff.
