On-Going:  Some sections of the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center boardwalk trail system are closed as a safety precaution. Boardwalk areas that are in need of minor repairs will be fixed and reopened as soon as possible, while other areas will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time. For visitor safety and the health of the ecosystem, it is imperative for visitors to only explore the open sections of the boardwalk and grass trails, and to not create any new access points into the area. Updates will be shared here and on social media.

September 6, 2019:  Did you know that the Centre Region Council of Governments (COG) is celebrating 50 years in 2019?  The COG provides regional services such as fire protection, emergency management, planning, code enforcement, parks and recreation, and library services.  To help commemorate the 50th anniversary, C-NET has produced a program highlighting the success that can occur when employees and elected and appointed officials successfully cooperate with each other to make our valley a great place to live and work.

In 1969, Township and Borough officials from the six Centre Region municipalities saw the opportunity that by working together they could solve common problems, save funds, and improve the quality of life for their residents. To implement this idea the six area municipalities formed the COG and with combined contributions from both municipal officials and COG employees it has become the most effective COG in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in terms of the scope of public services offered and facilities managed.

Jointly administering and funding important public services is an accomplishment everyone in our region should be proud of. The combined investment in time and resources to seek shared solutions to common problems strengthens each municipality and the Centre Region as a whole.
