December 2018:  The Steering Committee for the Centre Region Comprehensive Recreation, Parks, and Open Space Study requests the public's input at a public meeting in January, 2019.  Please read theComp. December 2018:  The Musser's Gap connector trail that traverses Whitehall Road Regional Park will partially relocate the latter part of the December 3rd week.  When parking is no longer available at the trail head closes to Whitehall Road Regional Park, the Agency will provide an update to our trail users.  For more info., please read the press release.

November 2018:  Govenor Wolf announcements 2018 grant investments in community parks and recreation.  In 2019, the Centre Region Parks and Recreation Authority will receive a $300,000 matching grant for the Whitehall Road Regional Park All-Ability and Universally-Accessible Playground!  The park is currently finalizing designs and will enter the Land Development Process officially in January, 2019.  For more info. on the grant announcement and the complete list of awarded grants, please click HERE.

November 2018:  CRPR opens the 2019 Full-Service and Specialty Concessions Request for Proposals (RFP) to potential food vendors/caterers/food trucks for the 2019 season.  Included in the RFP are the tentative schedules for the 2019 tournaments, leagues, and special events.  CRPR is looking for a full-service vendor for Hess Softball Complex; the vendor needs to be able to offer a light breakfast menu along with a full lunch menu.  The Hess Softball Complex vendor can be a food truck, a tent/table operation, or a mobile caterer.  Other opportunities are available for specialty vendors and/or full-service vendors at the Welch Community Pool, the Park Forest Community Pool, or at several CRPR Special Events held at several local facilities.  Interested vendors can complete the RFP anytime between now and February 1, 2019.  The complete RFP can be found HERE.

October 2018:   Congratulations to Chloe Bevilacqua and Zachary Hagerup, lifeguards for our Agency. Both received the American Red Cross (ARC) Lifesaving Award tonight for their heroic actions during a rescue on June 16 at Welch Pool.

This award is one of the highest awards given by the ARC to an individual or team of individuals who save or sustain a life using skills and knowledge learned in an ARC course. This award exemplifies the highest degree of concern of one human being for another who is in distress.National ARC Award

Congratulations Chloe and Zachary. We are extremely proud of you and appreciate your hard work this season. Thank you Aaron Workman, regional ARC representative, and Hope Rearton, new local ARC Chapter Director for presenting these awards tonight!

July 2018:  The RESULTS are in!!  The results from the 2018 CRPR Annual Youth Splash, Pedal & Dash Triathlon are posted.  Congratulations to all of our participants!  We had a blast watching you swim, bike, and run on a day with perfect race weather!  We hope to see you next year!!

July 2018:  The Request for Bids (RFB) for the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center (MMNC) Barn Sprinkler Replacement is now open; sealed bids are due by 2:30 PM on Wednesday, August 8.  Sealed bids will be opened at 3:45 PM on Wednesday, August 8 at MMNC, 548 Puddintown Road, State College.  A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Monday, July 30 at 10:00 AM at the MMNC.  To view or download the RFB, please click HERE.

July 2018:  The Centre Region Parks and Recreation Authority is pleased to announce the receipt of a Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Grant which will be used for the Regional Comprehensive Parks, Recreation and Open Space Study.  The Request for Proposals is now open for this study and can be viewed HERE.

June 2018:  The Bernel Road Park Playground will be closing temporarily for surfacing repairs from June 27-July 3.

June 2018:  The State College Area School District has provided some udpated information for access points and parking for the North Building.  In short, access will be available from the rear of the building since the Westerly Parkway parking lot closes on June 18.  Click HERE for the North Building Access/Parking Map.

June 8, 2018: Due to a boil water alert for Rock Springs Water customers, the water fountains at Meadows Park and Fairbrook Park are turned off until we receive the "all clear."

May 2018 - Long-time State College Area Municipal Band Director, Dr. Ned C. Deihl retiring after 22 years.  His final concert will be on May 13, 2018--the band's Mother's Day concert.

May 2018 - Centre Region Parks and Recreation is participating in Centre Gives, May 8 and 9, and will be fundraising to support the operations at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center.

April 2018 - The Centre Region Active Adult Center has received a $65,000 grant from the PA Department of Aging Senior Center Community Grant program.
