Millbrook Marsh Advisory Committee

The Millbrook Marsh Advisory Committee was formed in 2001 to provide advisory oversight of the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center. Organizational partner representatives and individuals are appointed to the Nature Center Advisory Committee by the Authority board. Membership according to the Advisory Committee by-laws consists of up to 20 people. 

The Nature Center Advisory Committee responsibilities include: 

  • Recommending to the Authority the adoption, amendment or repeal of nature center and park management practices, policies, rules, regulations, standards, criteria and procedures as it deems necessary for effective management. 
  • Assisting the Authority by recommending facility improvements and obtaining funding. 
  • Reporting nature center activities back to the organization they represent. 
  • Promoting and encouraging use of the nature center facilities to the community and partner organizations. 
  • Supporting the cooperative use of the nature center through volunteering and event support. 

The Millbrook Marsh Nature Center Advisory Committee typically meets in March, June, September, and November, and sets its meeting schedule in November for the next calendar year. Meetings begin at 4 PM and are held at the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center Spring Creek Education Building unless otherwise advertised. Meetings are open to the public. The MMNC Advisory Committee agendas and meeting minutes are posted on the Centre Region Council of Goverments website.
