Donations & Sponsorships

Centre Region Parks and Recreation manages its budget in many ways; the Agency receives tax funds from the local member municipalities (State College Borough and the Townships of College, Ferguson, Harris, and Patton), it generates revenues from certain programs and activities which are then reinvested into its operations, it competes for grant funding, and the Agency receives donations through its Gifts-For-Parks program. 

By contributing to the Gifts-For-Parks program, you are helping to extend the quality of municipal parks and recreation programs in the Centre Region. The funds generated from this program provide youth sports equipment, support the Remembrance Tree Program, support the Agency’s Youth Scholarship Program, support the State College Area Municipal Band, and purchase other supplies.

In particular, our Agency and the Authority are always fundraising for our Youth Scholarship Program.  Qualifying youth are awarded scholarships to participate in specialty summer camps, youth sports, general youth programming, gain access to the two regional pools, and more! Make a positive impact on a child's life with a gift today! 100% of your gift will be awarded to resident youth through the Youth Scholarship Program.

The Centre Region Parks and Recreation Authority, a Pennsylvania Municipal Authority, is registered with GuideStar®. In addition, the Internal Revenue Service has determined that the Authority is classified as a Section 509(a)1 organization, which is a municipal- or government-related non-profit. Finally, the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of State, Bureau of Charitable Organizations has issued a Certificate of Registration, #31963, to the Authority, which authorizes solicitation of charitable contributions.
