Field trips, group tours and self-guided visits
Naturalist with Group

Great for any group to learn and enjoy year-round! Choose from a variety of quality educational programs for children, adults, seniors, families, public school, and homeschool groups. These programs feature wetlands, watersheds, native plants, Pennsylvania wildlife, sustainable lifestyles, and much more.

How to Book a Field Trip:

  1. Select a Program:
Choose a Field Trip option. Looking for a personalized tour? Customize your visit with a Walk with a Naturalist (see below).
  2. Prepare for Your Day:
    Participants and Fees:
Program Fee is $10 per participant; paid in advance. There is no charge for adults for children’s programs, so please bring staff or chaperons to match the needs and ages of your group. Babies and small children may attend the program with their parents at no charge if they will not be participating.

All participants attending the program must be registered at the time the program is scheduled. This includes participating siblings and friends who are present with members of the group. A charge of $10 per person will be due on-site for any extra participants in the program. Refunds or credits are not provided for those who do not come on the day of the program. Guided Program Scholarships are available; find out more about scholarship opportunities.

These programs are designed for groups of 10-50 participants. If you have more than 50 people, please be prepared to schedule two program sessions. Groups larger than 15 individuals will be broken into smaller groups for the program.

    Program Length, Facilities and Weather:
Please dress for the weather; all activities will be held outdoors. Visitors should be prepared for temperatures, wind, rain/snow, or mud.

Programs are approximately 2 hours in length and are held rain or shine. In the event of thunderstorms, the program will be moved indoors or under shelter areas. Groups can be rescheduled at the request of the customer if there are openings on the Millbrook Marsh program calendar.

The facility for the program will be determined by the Program Coordinator. Complimentary use of the large pavilion for lunch is available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be scheduled with the Program Coordinator.

    Parking:
Free parking is provided. Please use the entrance by the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center and Visitor Parking Lot sign. Buses can pull to the bus unloading area located on the far end of the parking lot. Please do not use the small stone staff parking lot.

Additional tips on how to prepare for your trip can be found in the Teacher Letter
  3. Contact Millbrook Marsh Nature Center:
To make your group reservation, please submit a Field Trip Scheduling Form to the Program Coordinator or call (814) 235-7819. Be sure to include the following information:
    1. Desired program title

    2. Your first and second choice dates for the program. The Program Coordinator will do their best to schedule your trip on your preferred date. April/May/June/September and October are high-volume program times so early booking is recommended.

    3. Select a program time, morning or afternoon

    4. An invoice for the program fees will be sent to you after booking. All fees should be paid in full prior to the program to hold your program date.
