Susan joined Centre Region Parks and Recreation in 2025 as the Nature Center Supervisor at Millbrook Marsh. Driven by a commitment to equity and community well-being, she has served as a K–12 teacher and school leader, school psychologist, and applied researcher. With a background in education and public service, Susan brings expertise in project management, implementation science, community partnerships, mental health promotion, and program design and evaluation.

Most recently, Susan helped lead several large-scale research grants focused on improving students’ social skills in educational settings. Prior to that, she coordinated support services and taught special education in New York City Public Schools. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Ed. in School Psychology from Penn State, an M.S. in Teaching from Pace University, and a B.S. in Policy Studies from Syracuse University.

Susan lives in Ferguson Township with her husband and two kids where she enjoys her native plant garden, birdwatching, and photography. She is grateful to her family, who inspire her daily to look up to the sky and down in the dirt to appreciate the little things that truly are the big things.
