Who is this Veteran? Harold K. "Kenny" Woodhead Sr. helped make things happen his entire life - including providing steam to move the USS Commencement Bay (CVE 105 Escort Carrier) in the Pacific with 1,066 crewman and 34 aircraft. Kenny was a plank owner of that ship. Prior to the war he apprenticed as a carpenter. Following his return from the Navy, he continued work his entire life as a union carpenter. He and his wife, Margaret (Peg), raised three children and built two new homes for their family as it grew. Kenny was also known for his vehicles - trading in his car for a new one every two yrs. and for his H-D DuoGlide and then ElectraGlide motorcycles.
