Quonset Point was a US Navy installation from 1941-1974; next door was Camp Endicott in Davisville where the Navy Construction Battalions and the famous "Seabees" got their start. The naval base was home to several aviation squadrons and a major aircraft overhaul and repair operation. The Quonset hut was also first built at this facility.
While serving at Quonset Point, Paul met his future bride, Beverly, through a blind date. They married in 1964, and celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in November 2020.
