Who is this Veteran?    Chuck Slattery served his nation proudly during a difficult time as part of the 82nd Airborne, 2nd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery.  He returned home, married his love (Barbara), and took advantage of the GI Bill to earn his baccalaureate and master's degrees in Education.  His career was spent teaching industrial arts to juvenile delinquents.  Teaching allowed for him to share skills that his father and grandfather taught him with those who were not able to have those same experiences.  This work was as rewarding as it was difficult, and his quiet understanding was appreciated by those with whom he taught and worked.  Barb and Chuck raised two daughters and now have two granddaughters.  Being with family and celebrating with a proper cocktail are some of his favorite things!
