The Centre Region
Senior Center
has relocated to
the Nittany Mall.

After evaluating many potential locations, the Centre Region Parks & Recreation Authority finalized the details for the new home for the Senior Center inside the Nittany Mall, near the Sears store. Our thanks to the Nittany Mall for welcoming this transition. A temporary 3,225 square foot space opened there starting Sept. 1.  Boalsburg Architect Alan Popovich has prepared plans for the new, permanent, 7,075 square foot home at the mall, also near Sears, that is scheduled to open by May 1. If you have a question about the moves, please ask us! Also read the May 2015 news release (PDF) about the relocation.

On Wed., Dec. 9, 2015, about 60 seniors, along with CRPR Authority and Centre County officials gathered in the planned “Permanent Space” (Nittany Mall Space #990 near the Sears entrance) to hear an update from CRPR Director Ronald J. Woodhead and Architect Alan Popovich of APArchitects LLC, Boalsburg, regarding plans and challenges to renovating that space to serve as the new "Centre Region Active Adult Center."

At this planning meeting, the CRPR staff and Architect Alan Popovich sought input as the plans for the renovation of the “permanent space” are finalized. It is expected that the Senior Center will move from the “interim space” by May 1, 2016. A PDF file of the slides presented at the meeting is available HERE (500 KB PDF). The architectural plans are available for review at the Interim Senior Center.
