Nittany Mall SignSenior Center Relocation
Planned by Sept. 1, 2015

20 July 2015: An exciting, new home for the Senior Center!  After evaluating many potential locations, the Centre Region Parks & Recreation Authority, working with Centre County officials, is now finalizing the details for the new home for the Senior Center inside the Nittany Mall, near the Sears store.  The official announcement will be made at the Nittany Mall (Center Stage) at noon on Tuesday, July 28.  Please join us for the event!  Our thanks to the Nittany Mall for welcoming this transition. 

Time To MoveA temporary 4,000 square foot space will be open there starting Sept. 1, then Architect Alan Popovich will be meeting with staff and seniors for input on outfitting the new, permanent, 7,075 square foot home at the mall, also near Sears.  Have a question about the move, ask us!  We are happy to chat about this exciting event!  Please also read the May 2015 news release (PDF) about the relocation. 

CLOSED for the MOVE: The Centre Region Senior Center will be closed starting Mon., Aug. 24 through Mon. Aug. 31, 2015.  The center will re-open on Tues, Sept. 1 in the Nittany Mall, near the Sears store.

Senior Center Hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM 
(closed on Holidays)

The Centre Region Senior Center offers a wide variety of recreational activities for adults age 55+. A full calendar of events and monthly newsletters are available (below) to keep participants informed of exciting Center happenings! Centre County Van transportation to/from the center is available. To schedule a van ride, please call the Centre Region Senior Center at 231-3076 at least 24 hours in advance. We look forward to seeing you at the Center!

Meals are served to seniors at 11:30 AM, Monday through Friday. To reserve your meal, please call 231-3076 by 10 AM the day before you plan to visit the Center.

  • For adults age 60 & over, a donation of $1.25 per meal is requested to help offset some of the meal cost.
  • For adults age 55-59, the lunch fee is $3.51 per meal. 

2015 CENTRE COUNTY COST SAVING DAYS: 
Jan. 2, Apr. 3 & 6, May 22, Sept. 4, Oct. 12, Nov. 30, Dec. 31.
  No meals or van transportation to the Senior Center will be available on the County Cost Savings Days, but the center will be open and staffed.

Calling All Crafters

  • The Senior Center is always looking for craft donations for the Senior Center Crafter Boutique. We welcome finished projects and supply donations; please drop off your donation during regular center hours.
  • Are your creative and enjoy teaching others? Instructors are wanted for a variety of programs included knitting, crocheting, art, woodworking and more. Interested individuals are asked to call the Center at (814) 231-3076.
