REGISTRATION POLICY
For Participants Under Age 55
 In Programs Offered At
THE CENTRE REGION SENIOR CENTER

Programs offered by the Centre Region Senior Center are intended for adults age 55+.

For all participants, the CRPR Fee Policy specifies that the fees for
Nonresidents of the Centre Region are set at 150% of the Resident fee (except for motorcoach trips).

MOTORCOACH TRIPS: With respect to motorcoach trips offered by the Senior Center, nonresident participation can be important to meet the minimum registrations required for the trips to proceed. As a result, the 150% rate for Centre Region nonresidents will be reduced to 125% for Centre County residents registering for Centre Region Senior Center motorcoach trips. This approach recognizes the Centre County financial contributions, and allows residents to enjoy the varied destinations. For example, for a trip with a fee of $100 per person: Centre Region resident seniors would pay $100; Centre County resident seniors would pay $125; All other seniors (from outside Centre County) would pay $150 per person for that trip.

MEDICAL ESCORTS: Medical Escorts (defined as an escort, age 21 or over, required by the senior attendee due to a medical condition) are also permitted to register and participate for programs without restriction. Medical Escorts will be required to pay the same program fee as the Attended Senior (Resident or Nonresident).

OTHER ESCORTS / GUESTS: Program Registrations for fee-based programs by adults age 21-54, and who are guests of an eligible senior, will be accepted on a space-available basis starting one week prior to the established Registration Deadline.

CENTRE COUNTY PROGRAMS: Programs that are provided or sponsored by the Centre County Office of Aging at the Centre Region Senior Center, such as congregate noon-time meals and van service, are available at an increased fee to those under age 60.

However, the Centre County Office of Aging allows for the following exceptions to the increased fees:

• For the noon-time meals, if a couple visits the senior center and one is 60+ and the spouse is under 60, the underage spouse is eligible for the meal at the regular, suggested meal donation (currently $1).

• For the County Van Service, if an age 60+ participant requires a Medical Escort (who is under age 60), the Office of Aging will consider permitting the underage rider to escort the senior at no additional cost. This inquiry should be made to the County in advance of the travel day. Otherwise, all riders under age 60 must pay the full fee for the van service.

This policy was approved by the Centre County Office of Aging and
was formally adopted by the Centre Regional Recreation Authority on 13 Sep 07 and amended on 17 Nov 2011.
