Who is this Veteran? Dean was the first District 8 Commissioner of the PA Amateur Softball Assocation (ASA) which included the State College area. He was President of the PA Amateur Softball Association from 1999 until his death. He helped to establish the Hess Softball Complex and managed the Nittany Gas & Oil Softball Team for many years. In 1980 he was inducted into the PA ASA Hall of Fame as a player and a manager.
