PFPoolFunding assistance for this $3.2 million project is being provided by the long-term cooperation of the five municipalities of the Authority, including a $350,000 grant from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resouces, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, Community Conservation Partnership Program.

Tax-deductible contributions to the "CRPR Gifts-For-Parks Program" may also be made to the Authority in order to further enhance the renewed Park Forest Pool.

Park Forest Pool closed for the season at 8PM on Sun., 3 Aug 08 - at which time the final pool draining began. CRPR staff then vacated and "cleaned out" the site on Monday, 4 Aug 08. The contractors were authorized to mobilize on-site on Tuesday, 5 Aug 08.

Sunday 3 Aug 08 was PARK FOREST POOL DAY with free admission all day. Also, a special "Last Splash" Ceremony was held at 6:00 PM. Please check out the ceremony program HERE (PDF).

A group of swimmers enjoys a last swim in the "old" Park Forest Pool just after the 6:00 PM "Last Splash Ceremony."

The pools were drained starting at 8 PM that day and CRPR started to remove operational items for storage.

The old filters and other materials have been removed from the site as site clearing continues. The picnic pavilion was temporarily placed in the parking area until its new location is ready. This view is from the back of the pool site, looking toward School Drive.

The contractors are excavating for the footers of the bathhouse. This view is from the hill above the site of the old wading pool.

The foundation for the bathhouse is almost complete. The exact placement for each new pool has also been established. Site clearing continues.

The foundation for the deepwell end of the main pool is being prepared by employees of Stoneridge Construction. The ramp to permit access by the excavators is also shown.
