Municipal Advisory Committees

Centre Region Parks & Recreation serves as the official parks & recreation department for five municipalities:
· Borough of State College
· Township of College
· Township of Harris
· Township of Ferguson
· Township of Patton

Three of those municipalities have organized citizen advisory committees with volunteer appointees. One member of each group also serves as that municipality's representative on the Centre Region Parks & Recreation Board / Centre Regional Recreation Authority (as indicated below).

2012 College Township Parks & Recreation Committee

The Parks and Recreation Committee is made up of nine members. Members hold office for terms of five years. The members are volunteer citizens, appointed by Council and must reside in the Township. The committee typically holds 9 regularly-scheduled meetings annually (January, February, March, April, May, June, September, October and November).  Meetings are normally held on the third Monday at 7:00 p.m.

2012 Harris Township Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee

The Harris Township Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00PM, unless otherwise noted, at the Harris Township Building.  The 2012 meeting dates are January 18, February 15, March 21, April 18, May 16, June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17, November 21, December 19

2012 Patton Township Recreation Advisory Committee

The Recreation Advisory Committee is made up of five Patton Township residents. The Committee advises the Board of Supervisors on improvements needed to the Township's park system and oversees the completion of park projects approved by the Board. The Committee prepares and presents for Board approval a Township Park Facilities Plan. When adopted by the Board, the plan becomes the framework for the committee's work on identifying specific park improvements to be included in each year's budget.
