CRPR Summer Day Camps - Come to Wee KIDVenture or KIDVenture Camp this summer and see what all the talk is about. New faces, new adventures await. In addition, CRPR is teaming up with Titan Fitness to offer a Martial Arts & Culture Camp for youth ages 5 & up. Centre Region Parks & Recreation...Where Everyone Plays!


The Pools are Open!!!! - Wm Welch and Park Forest Community Pools are open and ready for summertime fun! Bring friends and family to the Family Fun Nights throughout the summer, or just come out for a nice refreshing swim in the evenings. Evening Youth Swimming Lessons-Sess.1 Begins CRPR offers swimming lessons for pre-school through age 14 at The State College High School Natatorium. Adult Beginner & Advanced Tennis Lessons begin - Adult beginner and advanced tennis lessons are offered through CRPR at Community Courts from 6:30-8 PM. Days of the week differ for each class. Learn the game in a pleasant atmosphere while having fun! Fee: $40 Residents/$60 Nonresidents.Register online or by calling Centre Region Parks & Recreation at 231-3071.

Adult Variety Workout Begins Come to summer fitness and try a variety of workouts. Aerobics for heart health and body toning for muscle and bone strength. Activities will vary depending on the instructor teaching. Mondays & Wednesdays; SC. Borough Municipal Building from 6-7PM. Fee: $24 Residents/$36 Nonresidents. 2008 Centre County Senior Games (June 2 - 25) BEGINS TODAY! Be sure to register to participate in the pleasures of golf, bowling, walking, and more! Call 231-3076 for program information.

Duplicate Bridge. A great way to spend the morning. No partner required, but call the Senior Center in advance to reserve a seat. 9 AM - Noon. FREE!!!

Summer Discovery Days at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center A time for visitors to explore the nature center grounds, have a look around the barn, hike the trails or even bring a picnic. Programs for Homeschool Programs - Edible Plant Study Learn about plants that grow in the marsh, how plants were historically used for household purposes and what parts of plants can be used for food. 9AM - Noon at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center. Full Moon Walks at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center All ages are welcome for this fun night walk in Millbrook Marsh. This non-scary walk will include activities that encourage participants to be comfortable out at night. Activities can be enjoyed by big kids as well as little ones. Exploring Our Backyard Hikes - Bear Meadow Natural Area Meet at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, ride our van to a local natural area, and walk with a guide who knows the trails! These walks are beginner to moderate level, will include a break for lunch/snacks (bring your own), and are led by the staff from the Penn State Adventure Recreation Program. Walks will go in light rain, but will be cancelled in case of severe weather. Registration is required. Wee KIDVenture Summer Day Camp - Come Aboard Week! The 2nd week session of Wee KIDVenture Camp begins. This camp is geared towards children ages 3-5 years old, who are potty trained and have not entered Kindergarten yet. Wee is using their imagination this summer. Each week campers will be on the move exploring and discovering what is wonderful & exciting about so many different places. KIDVenture Summer Day Camps - The 2nd week session of KIDVenture Camps Begins. The camps serve children entering grades 1-6 and are jammed packed full of wonderful things to do. Come out and join us for field trips to the beach at Black Moshannon State Park, Spring Creek Park, and an adventure to DelGrosso’s Amusement Park. Youth Martial Arts & Culture Camp CRPR has once again partnered with Titan Fitness of State College to offer this great camp experience for youth ages 5 and up. The sport of Martial Arts helps in developing concentration, discipline, and strength. Join the experienced and enthusiastic staff at Titan Fitness for a week of intense learning and fun! Triple-O (One on One) Youth Swim Lessons Begin Individualized swim instruction for youth ages 5-14! For those youngsters needing extra feedback & personalized attention from our outstanding instructors. Four-30 minute lessons per program. Fee: $58R / $87N. Teen Wild Wednesday Get-a-ways - Canoeing on the Bald Eagle Creek Calling all teens entering grades 6-8! CRPR has a trip planned to an exciting location in and around the Centre Region. Canoe the waters of the Bald Eagle Creek or take a roller coaster adventure. Registration is required and if a minimum enrollment is not met, trips may be canceled. CRPR Youth Track Meet Wednesday, June 25 - July 30, join CRPR staff at the State College Are High School track (behind the South Building) for this FREE programs. Children ages 5-12 are invited to come out and try their hand at various track and field events. Competitors can register for the events on the evening of the meet. Events offered will be: Softball Toss, Long Jump, 50m dash, 100m dash, 200m run & the 1 mile run (11 & 12 yr olds only). Come out and enjoy an evening of fun! Movies will be shown on an inflatable screen at 3 different regional parks throughout the summer. This environmentally friendly event is a wonderful way to spend a summer evening and is easily accessible from a bike path. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic and enjoy this FREE event, sponsored by CRPR, Centre Region Bike Coalition and Videon Central, Inc. Don't forget your bike light!
