CRPR Summer Day Camps - Come to Wee KIDVenture or KIDVenture Camp this summer and see what all the talk is about. New faces, new adventures await. Millbrook Marsh Nature Center also offers fabulous camps for youth this summer. Learn to warm water fly-fish or just have fun in the out-of-doors. CRPR is teaming up with Titan Fitness to offer a Martial Arts & Culture camp for youth ages 5 & up. Centre Region Parks & Recreation...Where Everyone Plays!

The Pools are open! - Wm Welch and Park Forest Community Pools are open and ready for summertime fun! Bring friends and family to the NEW! - Family Fun Nights throughout the summer, or just come out for a nice refreshing swim in the evenings. Discovery Days at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center Discovery Days are a time for visitors to explore the nature center grounds, have a look around the barn, ask questions about programs, hike the trails, or bring a picnic. Nature Center staff will be on hand to answer questions and give directions. There is no charge to visit the center, but donations are accepted and appreciated. Tuesdays & Fridays; 4 - 7PM

Progressive Resistance Weight Training, Exercise using hand-held weights, leg weights, & therapeutic exercise bands (all equip. provided). Program is designed to increase muscle strength, bone density, and flexibility. 11 AM - Noon; Fee: $8R / 12N Held at the Senior Center.

Seniors Hiking Group meets at 9 AM. Enjoy a moderate hike in the great outdoors. Call 231-3076 for more info about this FREE program

This week we are heading to Knoebel’s Amusement Park for a day of cool rides and tons of fun! Spaces are limited so contact CRPR today to register: 231-3071. Trip leaves at 8AM from the Park Forest Pool parking lot and returns at approximately 5PM. Pre-registration is required. Fee: $38 Residents/$57 Nonresidents. Trips may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

FREE Youth Track Meets: Track and field events are offered for children ages 5-12 years old. The meets are held at the SC High School track on Weds. nights through July 30, 5:45 - 8PM, weather permitting. The program is FREE and children can register on the evening of the meet. 43rd Annual CRPR Peanut Carnival 6-8PM at the Park Forest Middle School Gymnasium. The theme for this year’s carnival Is Medieval times of Wizards & Ogres as well as Kings and Queens. Come out and play some great games, see old friends and help support the CRPR Summer Day Camp Program. The campers from the KIDVenture Summer Day Camp Programs plan, decorate and run the carnival booths open to the public. Purchase a bag of peanuts for $0.25 and then use the peanuts to play the various games throughout the evening. There are plenty of games, prizes , raffles and so much more. “Pedal, Splash, and Dash” CRPR Youth Triathlon - If you like swimming, biking and running this is the event for you. Come out and join CRPR for this new event. CRPR Youth Fly Fishing for Bass Camp The CRPR Youth Flyfishing for Bass Camp is a new program offered jointly with the PA Fish & Boat Commission for the first time this summer! This educational camp offers a great opportunity for experienced young fly-fishers and/or those who have completed the previous CRPR Fly-fishing Camp (cold water) to learn about fly fishing for warm water species such as panfish & bass. Skills taught will include warm-water ecology, fly-tying for panfish and bass, leader design and casting techniques, tips for bigger fish, and basic wading & canoeing skills. Camp will meet Monday, 28 July through Friday, 1 Aug 08, 8AM - 5PM at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center (rain or shine). Camp Fee: $100 Resident / $150 Nonresident.
