Here’s what’s going on at CRPR in January 2008:
* CRPR 2008 Discounted Ski Ticket Program: The snow will come eventually, so be
prepared. Lift Tickets on sale NOW for 13 resorts in and around PA. Call 231-3071 or explore this website.
* CRPR is distributing the 2008 Winter & Spring Leisure Guide in the January 6, Sunday
edition of the Centre Daily Times. Drop-off or Mail-in Registrations will be accepted for
the 2008 Winter and Spring Program seasons. Classes fill up quickly, so sign up for both
seasons! In addition to the Guide being available in the January 6 edition of the CDT,
Leisure Guides will be available throughout the Centre Region, at the CRPR office, 2643
Gateway Dr. #1 & on-line at www.crpr.org. Call 231-3071 for details.
* CRPR Girl’s Softball League Sign-ups: Winter just arrived, but we are thinking about spring already. Register before March 7, for Girl’s Softball and receive a $5 discount off your registration fee. Centre Region Picnic Pavilion Reservations. Picnic pavilion reservations will be accepted for 23
pavilions at 17 Centre Region Park areas & community pools. Reservations may be made for the
2008 season over the phone or in person, with payment due in full at the time the reservation is

Progressive Resistance Weight Training Begins. A class for seniors 55+ years, at the Senior
Center. Exercise using hand-held, leg weights & therapeutic exercise bands (all equipment
provided). Program is designed to increase muscle strength, bone density, & flexibility. Tuesdays

Healthy Steps in Motion Exercise Program This low impact exercise will work on improving
balance, flexibility, strength and reduce the risk of falling and can be done in a chair or standing.
Participants will use hand-held weights and exercise bands, which will be provided. Mondays &

Beginning Tai Chi for Seniors (From the Arthritis Foundation) Begins This popular exercise
program is effective in promoting physical & mental well being. Tai Chi increases flexibility,
muscular strength & fitness & may also reduce joint pain and stiffness due to arthritis. Tuesdays,
Jan 15 - Feb 19; 10:30 - 11:30 AM at the Senior Center. Fee: $40R / $$60N. Call the Senior

Advanced Tai Chi for Seniors (From the Arthritis Foundation) Begins For those who have
completed the Beginners series of Tai Chi (from the Arthritis Foundation).This series will review
thebasic level 1 movements and include the reverse direction, an additional 9 movements.

Ballroom Dance Class, Come learn the ballroom dance steps to the Fox Trot, Tango, Waltz & Cha
Cha, while getting some exercise and making new friends. Join Carter and Ruby Ackerman for this

Hip Hop FUN-damentals Dance Class (Ages 7-9).This class is designed to help kids learn about
rhythm, coordination and the fundamentals of Hip Hop. Participants will learn various forms of hip
hop dance such as poppin’, lockin’ & beginner break dancing skills. Instructor, Casie Goshow has
a strong background in Hip Hop Dance and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm
with her students. Tuesdays; 5:45-6:45PM at the State College Borough Building Community
