Centre Region Parks & Recreation Agency joins the

In July 2007, the Centre Region Parks & Recreation Board / Centre Regional Recreation Authority voted to authorize an agreement effective 1 Jan 08 for the Agency to become a member of The Active Network on-line community. As a result, CRPR has been using the Active.Net service to process all registrations and reservations.

As a part of that service, direct customer access (from HERE) is now available. Using Active’s remote software services, Centre Region Parks and Recreation now offers community members access to online registration to review, search, sign up and pay for recreational programs and activities around the clock. Requests for picnic pavilion reservations, sportfield permits, pool season passes are now accepted online. The service will also enable optional, activity/interest-specific email newsletters from CRPR, such as news from the senior center, nature center, sports, fitness, aquatics, fitness walking in the parks, etc.

Centre Region Parks & Recreation provides municipal park operations and recreation programming on behalf of the Borough of State College and the Townships of College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton. The agency currently maintains 778 acres at 51 sites, including 46 parks, 2 swimming pools, Millbrook Marsh Nature Center and the Centre Region Senior Center. During 2007, the agency:

• offered 769 public recreation programs and special events which involved 114,000 participants,
• processed 28,346 customer financial transactions, which included 984 group reservations for pavilions.
